The following activities are offered to our residents to help them grow individually at their own pace.

Therapeutic Riding

Residents have the opportunity to attend the No Drama Ranch in Norco, Ca where they can ride horses with Donna Hyde who has been working with people who have mental and physical disabilities for 30 years. Horseback riding is beneficial to the residents because it helps their balance, focus and muscle strength.

Peppermint Ridge has an in ground pool on the main campus where residents can enjoy cooling off from the heat. During the summer months swim classes are scheduled where residents participate in water exercises and practice swimming techniques. All swim classes are monitored by staff who have obtained a water safety certificate.

Therapy Dogs

Birthday Parties

With the help of volunteers from the Saddleback Church in Corona, residents who are celebrating a birthday receive a special gift at a party that includes all the Ridgers.  Bingo, dancing and snacks make the event lively for all.

Residents spend quality time with loveable, certified therapy dogs. These visits make residents happy, help residents to improve their social skills, and increase their range of motion.

Party Pardners

The Ridgers attend a party twice a month at the Senior Center in Norco.  Each get together is uniquely themed and includes dancing and other activities.

Yoga and fitness classes

Strength training, aerobics and yoga have all been integrated into classes to benefit the Ridgers. These classes promote strength, balance, flexibility, relaxation and a healthy lifestyle for each resident.

Residents make teams and participate in bowling leagues. This is a great way for residents to be active in the community and learn life skills while also having a blast and enjoying time with friends.

Residents learn simple ways to make their favorite foods. This class teaches cooking skills, table manners and how to tidy up a kitchen after use.

Cooking Lessons

Art Classes

Painting, drawing, bead making and ceramics are only some of the creative mediums taught in art class. Residents enjoy showing their creativity and individual personalities through art class.

With options like a drum circle, piano playing and singing, how do you ever choose one class? Ridgers don’t have to choose, they can take them all!

The drum circle participants have performed during the Peppermint Ridge 4th of July Parade. Residents play the piano regularly and the Ridge “Rejoicers” choir performs at churches and other events throughout the year.

Music Lessons

Pilgrim Pines Summer Camp

Every year, a group of residents spend a week at a camp in Yucaipa especially designed for adults with special needs.  Peppermint Ridge staff accompanies the residents and appropriate nursing staff is available if needed.

Self-Advocacy Classes

Camp allows for residents to learn outdoor skills and safety procedures like fire safety and animal safety. There is also the creative side where residents can make art out of objects found in the wild. Camp is a great experience for every resident that attends.

This class helps residents understand that they have a right to make choices about the things that they do.  It also helps them learn to make positive choices.

*Residents also participate in community outings to movie theaters, restaurants, sporting events, amusement parks etc.
